Everson High

Teen mystery

Five lifelong friends become suspects after someone sabotages Abby Johnson’s Yale scholarship.

Created by Amy MatthewTwo seasons · 20 episodes developed

Public treatment

Five friends. One destroyed future. Everyone has a reason.

When Abby Johnson’s Yale scholarship is deliberately sabotaged, the five friends who know her best become the people she can trust least. The investigation exposes resentments that have been hiding inside years of shared history.

The mystery expands beyond who committed the act into why achievement has become so dangerous at Everson High. Each answer changes the group’s understanding of class, loyalty, pressure, and the futures they thought they had earned.

Format: One-hour prestige teen mystery drama

Tone: Emotionally grounded mystery with humor, romance, and real consequences—the mystery is the spine and friendship is the heart.

The world: Everson High and the coffee-shop booth, cheer practice, dance studios, AP classrooms, family kitchens, parking lots, and hallways five friends have shared since childhood.

Pilot story

The opening hour.

On the last first day of senior year, five friends renew their childhood promise to remain family. Abby prepares her Yale application, Kim receives a dance opportunity, Jenna fights to feel visible, Tonya chases validation, and Heather meets India. Maya watches from outside and studies every crack.

First-season treatment

The complete public season arc.

Season One lets senior year breathe through college applications, first love, family rupture, dance ambition, queer awakening, and repeated attempts to repair. Yale then investigates Abby after anonymous allegations. Season Two follows the lost scholarship, Jenna’s unsent accusation, and the revelation that Maya completed the sabotage. Yale reinstates Abby, but she chooses Howard and the friends graduate with a pact based on honesty rather than perfection.

Series runway: College separates the five geographically while annual reunions and parallel coming-of-age arcs preserve their bond, ending with a return to the coffee-shop booth as adults.
