Teen mystery

Five overlooked girls become popular, but an anonymous blackmailer turns every victory into evidence of what they have become.

Created by Amy MatthewMulti-season series development

Public treatment

Popularity gives five overlooked girls everything—except safety.

Five girls who have spent years being ignored finally gain the visibility they wanted. Their rise creates new romance, opportunity, and social power, but it also turns every compromise into evidence.

An anonymous blackmailer knows how they became popular and what each girl did to stay there. The series asks whether friendship can survive when the group’s shared dream becomes the secret that controls them.

Format: One-hour teen social thriller

Tone: Fast, stylish, suspenseful, and emotionally addictive; social ambition becomes a moral trap.

The world: Westbridge High, where status is measured at lunch tables, parties, tryouts, group chats, and a ruthless annual ranking called The List.

Pilot story

The opening hour.

After a humiliating event, Lila persuades her four friends to manufacture popularity. Quinn alters The List, Brooke secures a party invitation, and Sofia captures Avery in a compromising confrontation. By Monday the five are visible—and all receive the same message: Best friends share everything. Start with Friday night.

First-season treatment

The complete public season arc.

Every attempt to protect the group increases its power and guilt. They manipulate an election, hide a cheating scandal, and fracture romances while BFF publishes pieces of their secret. Avery proves to be the blackmailer’s first victim, not the mastermind. Their rise was engineered to make them take the fall for an older campus scandal, and the police arrive just when they become the clique everyone watches.

Series runway: Each season centers on a new hierarchy and mystery while tracking whether the five can remain friends after learning how expertly they can weaponize one another.
