Public treatment

A feature world developed beyond the poster.

For years, two next-door neighbors have been the person each calls after every terrible date, career disaster, and family emergency. Everyone in their orbit sees the love story except them. When one impulsive kiss turns their easy friendship into a complicated romance, they try to prove the relationship can work without changing anything—and discover that love changes everything. Their friends’ delighted ‘we told you so’ becomes less a victory lap than a challenge: can two people risk the safest relationship in their lives for the chance at something deeper?

Character development

The people carrying the feature.

01She trusts the friendship more than romance

The planner

Competent, warm, and convinced that naming her feelings could destroy the one relationship she cannot lose.

02He makes everything look effortless

The improviser

Charming and emotionally observant until the future requires him to say exactly what he wants.

03Chief architect of ‘we told you so’

The married best friend

Loves them both, celebrates too early, and keeps pushing when they need honesty rather than matchmaking.

04A familiar alternative

The ex who returns

Offers one lead the comfort of an old plan and forces the new couple to admit whether this is real.

05Romantic skeptic

The younger sibling

Sees the ways lifelong familiarity can hide avoidance and refuses to confuse chemistry with readiness.

06Comic witness

The neighborhood regular

Has watched the relationship unfold from across the street and delivers inconvenient truths with perfect timing.

PLANNERWe were good at this before we made it a thing.

IMPROVISERIt was always a thing. We were just the last two people told.

PLANNERAnd if we ruin it?

IMPROVISERThen at least we stop calling love the thing we’re afraid to lose.
