Public treatment
Lonely and overlooked after her family moves into an inherited house, Molly finds an antique doll sealed inside a nursery wall. She whispers that she wants a friend who will never leave. Soon the doll answers—not with words, but by removing every person who comes between them. As accidents become disappearances, Molly’s mother uncovers the history of a previous child who made the same wish. Saving Molly means breaking a bond that feeds on loneliness while convincing a frightened child that real love can survive separation.
